Domain Names are allocated or registered by organisations such as the Australian Domain Name Administrator ... http://www.auda.org.au/ NOTE: It can take several days for a new domain name to become active.
Do I need to register a Domain Name myself?No, we can do that for you. However, we need to work with you to ensure we choose the right Domain Name for your business. Our web design packages include registration of a ".com" domain name for 2 years. There is a small additional charge for the registration of a ".com.au" domain name.
Can I use my existing Domain Name?No problem! We'll happily transfer your existing domain name across to your new website free of charge.
What is Web Hosting?Web Hosting is similar to the block of land on which your home sits. When building a website you will need a physical location for it to reside and data highways to bring the visitors. Web Hosting provides a storage space on a networked computer or web server for the data files that make up your website. While, it is possible to host a website on your home or office computer, it's not recommended. A far better approach is to rent space from a hosting service provider that has reliable computer systems with back-up facilities (that's online 24hr/7days a week). They also have multiplte high speed data links to the Internet and their equipment is loacted in a secure environment with no-break power supplies. If you're serious about creating a professional business image you need to make sure your website is always available to visitors.
How often do I need to update my website?It depends on what's the goal of your website, however it's always a good idea to plan for regular updates. Good text-based content is critical, furthermore "fresh" or new content is an important part of achieving a high search engine ranking. The average small business brochure-style website will benefit from a six monthly update, while a website that displays news items or future/recent events should be updated every month. e-Commerce or database driven websites need updating on a more frequent basis.
